How to Become a Reviewer

Open Christian Press invites qualified scholars to join our growing community of reviewers. Serving as a peer reviewer is both a scholarly responsibility and a sacred trust—an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to rigorous, truth-seeking research rooted in academic and ethical integrity.

We welcome expressions of interest from experienced researchers, educators, theologians, and professionals who are committed to critical thinking, respectful engagement, and the advancement of knowledge that aligns with the journal’s scope and values.

Reviewer Qualifications

We seek reviewers who demonstrate:

A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field of study
A record of published scholarly work, or equivalent professional/ministerial expertise
Strong familiarity with academic standards, research ethics, and citation practices
A willingness to provide honest, constructive, and timely feedback
Alignment with the values of academic freedom, intellectual humility, and scholarly discernment

Reviewers must be able to assess work fairly, regardless of the author’s background or viewpoint, and must disclose any conflicts of interest as outlined in our Confidentiality & Conflict of Interest Policy.

How to Apply

If you meet the above criteria and would like to serve as a reviewer for one or more journals under Open Christian Press, you may apply in one of two ways:

Option 1: Email Application
Send a short message of interest to editor@openchristian.education with the subject line: Reviewer Application – [Your Area of Expertise]. Please attach a brief CV (2–3 pages), including your academic background, publication record (if any), and current institutional affiliation.

Option 2: Online Form (Coming Soon)
We are preparing a centralized form for reviewer applications across our journals. Until then, email submissions are preferred.

Areas of Expertise

In your application, please indicate your preferred fields or disciplines, such as:

Business theology
Economics and stewardship
Philosophy, theology, and ethics
Science and society
Stigmatized or suppressed knowledge
Education, leadership, and social research
African or decolonial studies
Technology, AI, and faith

Your application will be reviewed by the relevant editorial team, and if accepted, you may be invited to review 1–3 manuscripts per year. All reviewers are acknowledged with gratitude and may request a certificate of service or formal recognition letter for academic purposes.
