A peer-reviewed journal fostering integrative inquiry across the natural sciences, philosophical reasoning, and biblical theology.
Journal Description
The Open Journal of Science, Philosophy & Theology (OJ-SPT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal devoted to exploring the deep interconnections between scientific discovery, philosophical inquiry, and theological understanding. With reverence for both reason and revelation, OJ-SPT serves as a space for critical reflection on humanity’s deepest questions—concerning origin, knowledge, morality, design, meaning, and destiny.
The journal invites contributions from diverse intellectual traditions, yet it upholds the freedom to question dominant secular assumptions, materialist dogmas, and ideological frameworks that dismiss the spiritual dimension of reality. We welcome both faith-based and secular scholars who seek to engage these disciplines with academic honesty, intellectual courage, and moral seriousness.
OJ-SPT promotes respectful dialogue between disciplines without diluting truth claims. We believe that theology need not retreat from science, nor philosophy from revelation, but that all three may together illuminate the complexity and coherence of creation.
Scope and Areas of Interest
OJ-SPT publishes original articles, critical essays, philosophical reflections, theological explorations, and cross-disciplinary reviews addressing themes such as:
Philosophy of Science: Epistemological limits of science, the role of metaphysics in scientific models, and critiques of scientism
Theology and Natural Law: Biblical frameworks for interpreting creation, the human person, and divine order
Science and Faith: Constructive dialogue on topics such as cosmology, genetics, AI, consciousness, time, and the soul
Philosophy of Mind and Personhood: Consciousness, free will, identity, and the image of God in an age of neural and computational models
Biblical Cosmology and Worldview: Creation narratives, fall and restoration, and the theological significance of time and matter
Ethics and Moral Reasoning: The moral consequences of scientific advancement, philosophical ethics, and theological visions of justice
End-times and Eschatological Thought: Scholarly explorations on prophetic timelines, cosmological signs, and the integration of theology and science in eschatology
The Limits of Technological Progress: Philosophical and theological critiques of transhumanism, posthumanism, and the myth of limitless innovation
Submissions are welcomed from scholars, scientists, theologians, and philosophers who pursue truth with intellectual humility and moral responsibility. Contributions that challenge prevailing assumptions, restore forgotten wisdom, or propose integrative models will be especially valued.
All manuscripts are subject to single-blind peer review and must demonstrate clarity of thought, sound reasoning, and respect for the complexity of interdisciplinary inquiry.
